Papers of the following types will be published in the UMAP 2009 conference proceedings, in the Springer series Lecture Notes in Computer Science:

Research papers (12 or 6 pages) Industry papers (12 or 6 pages)

Papers of the following types will be made available to conference participants in the UMAP Adjunct Proceedings:

• Doctoral Consortium papers (6 pages)
• Demonstration descriptions (6 pages)

Submissions of the following types will be read by the cochairs and reviewers who select workshops and tutorials, and two-page summaries will be included in the UMAP Adjunct Proceedings:

• Workshop proposals (6 pages)
• Tutorial proposals (6 pages)
